Through our Chesapeake Aspiring Scholars program, children of employees in their senior year of high school may be selected to earn scholarship funds toward their studies at accredited colleges, universities or post-secondary education technical schools.

Recognizing both the importance of higher education and the financial challenges associated with it, annually we award these scholarships to help support young people reach their fullest potential.

The program lays a foundation that allows students to shine. An appointed Scholarship Selection Committee comprised of Chesapeake Utilities employees from throughout our business locations reviews information provided by each of the scholarship applicants who are graduating high school seniors. Committee members provide their recommendations for scholarship winners based on each applicant's academic record, extracurricular accomplishments, two student essays, leadership qualities, work experience, citizenship, community involvement and letters of recommendation.
